Completion of clinic hours: possible intensive clinic in Term 4 2017

Completion of clinic hours: possible intensive clinic in Term 4 2017

We are considering offering an intensive clinic in the fourth term for Naturopathy, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine modalities so that students who still have substantial pending hours and need to horn their clinical skills can be done by the end of 2017.

The reasons for the proposal are:

1. End of VET FEE-HELP by December 2017.
2. Teach out period of the qualifications approaching the end by 2018.
3. To meet a request made by a group of students.
4.To provide an opportunity for those students who live far away from the college clinic to complete their clinic hours in a shorter period of time.

Depend on the interest shown, we may offer the clinic (last term) Monday to Friday from 9 am – 6pm and on Saturday 9am -2pm. This can only be successful if the college, supervisors, and students work collectively so that we get enough clients to practice.

The purpose of this Email is to find out whether you have any pending hours beyond term 3 and if so how many and if we offer the intensive clinic whether you will be attending and if so for how many days.

The decision to run the intensive clinic in term 4 will totally depend on the student’s interest and commitment and we appreciate your response by answering the questions above by return Email.

As you know delivery of all the theory units required for the above qualification will be completed by the end of term 3, (October)2017 as per proposed study plan published in 2015.

If you have already completed your required hours and the units please ignore this email. Also, please that the content of this Email is not applicable for Ayurveda students.

VET FEE HELP Information

VET FEE HELP Information

The government has announced the cessation of VET FEE-HELP scheme as from January 2017.However, they have informed us that the students currently studying under VET FEE-HELP, will be able to access the VET FEE-HELP loan, under grandfather clause until the end of December 2017 provided you sign a declaration which will be sent to you by the department. Please keep an eye on your post box or Email for any correspondence from the department and respond to it as soon as possible. Failure to do so will hinder your access to VET FEE-HELP.

To this end, encourage all the students to complete as many units as possible related to their enrolled qualification before the end of December 2017, if you want to access VET FEE-HELP loan for your studies. We understand that this decision has caused a huge amount of distress to many and we are doing our best to assist our students including offering an interest-free easy payment option for those who do not want to access VET FEE-HELP loan or who want to continue their studies beyond December 2017. We also ask all the students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, and Western Herbal Medicine to be mindful of the teach-out plan and work within the plan so that you complete your qualification within the prescribed period.

If you have any question or need any assistance I ask you to contact Kim or Visha who will be able to work out a strategy for your individual circumstance. Please note that we do everything we can do to help our students so that they can complete their qualification.
